Dr. Katherine Hoadley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics, the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Computational Medicine Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her PhD in genetics and molecular biology from UNC. Her research interests include analysis of gene expression data and integrative genomic analyses to better understand cancer. Her group has analyzed gene expression heterogeneity in a variety of cancer types through their participation in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Her group is also interested in how the tumor and microenvironment impact disparities in breast cancer, and they are involved in several projects analyzing genomic changes and ancestry-related alternative splicing events that occur during breast cancer metastasis.
